This blog is dedicated to anyone who is interested in goat packing. What is goat packing, you ask? Well, it is exactly like backpacking except instead of having to carry all of your equipment, a goat or several goats carries it for you. In this blog you will meet the goats which make up our pack goat company as well as see them in action from pictures and videos of our trips.

Here are the current four goats which make up our herd.

This is Marco. He is a castrated male (called a wether) and stands about 39-40 inches tall at the shoulder. He is the most docile goat I have ever seen, and he is being trained to follow us. We got him from some neighbors who didn't have the time to take care of him. He was very underweight when we first got him but now he is as fit as a bull.

This little goat is called Leida. We got her from a pack goat breeder in North Fork along with two of our other goats. She is the smallest of our goats, and is expected to kid in march. She has been on three packing trips so far.

This goat's name is Fauna. She is a little older than Leida, and is also expected to kid in March. She has been on about four pack trips so far.
This  is the leader of the herd and the lead goat on the pack string. Her name is Adella and she is a trained pack goat. She is about three and a half years old and has been on several packing trips.
